Birds are, one of the most beautiful gift of nature that exhibits numerous show or action that is totally intriguing and some time it is very hard to understand. From the day it come out of it’s egg shell, they show so much of variation. The plumage changes in different season. The size, variation and colouration of male and female can be very in interesting in some way.
Among many species, Fire-tailed Sunbird is one such species that is amazing bird. In Nepal, they inhabits the highlands, up to 4000m in summer, where they breed. The migrate down to lowlands in winter. Female is almost one-third of striking male birds in breeding season. In winter they are about similar size as males comes in it’s eclipse form, with small tail that shows it’s red colour when it flies around, some time mistaken as female from the distance.
